Dr. Fartash graduated from the prestigious USC dental school in 1994 and opened her first practice, Red Hill Dental, in San Mateo, CA in 2000.  In 2008, Dr Fartsah expanded her practice and opened Elite Dental in a new, San Jose location, focusing on leading edge technology, patient care and environmentally friendly operations.

Elite Dental is designed to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the natural environment by:

• Efficiently using energy, water, and other resources
• Protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity
• Reducing waste and pollution
• Using low-VOC paints
• Incorporating oxygen-producing live plants

Elite Dental minimizes environmental impact and implements the latest technology for diagnosis and treatment delivery by using:

• Digital Imaging
• Mercury traps and an amalgam separator
• Cloth head rest covers
• Cloth tray covers
• Cloth lab coats
• Cotton Towels in the washroom
• Stainless-steel saliva ejectors
• Digital practice management software
• Invoicing, appointment verification and scheduling through email when possible

Patients at Elite Dental value the technology used for diagnosis and treatments, feel comfortable & relaxed in the eco-friendly spa environment, and appreciate the measures to minimize the impact on the planet. Patients often comment that Elite Dental "doesn't feel like a dental office" and find themselves remarkably relaxed in the fresh, eco-friendly office. Elite Dental patients appreciate the opportunity to choose a dental practice that shares their values, and to support the practice's green initiatives by choosing electronic invoicing, scheduling and appointment verification.

Dr. Fartash is an active member of numerous non-profit organizations helping local and international communities. The EDA is a forum for Dr. Fartash to access and share information with other practicing dentists to better serve her patients while minimizing environmental impact.

If every dentist installed a mercury waste amalgam separator, we would divert 3.7 tons of mercury-containing waste each year.

By converting to digital x-rays, a typical office can prevent disposal of at least 200 liters of toxic x-ray fixer and 17,200 lead foils in just five years.

Installing energy-efficient flourescent lighting saves 2645 kilowatts of electrical energy and reduces CO2 emissions by 1375 pounds per year in the average dental office.

By switching to reusable and non-toxic disinfection methods, the dental industry would prevent 680 million plastic and paper chair barriers, light handle covers and patient bibs, and 1.7 billion instrument sterilization pouches from ending up in landfills yearly.

Digital patient charting saves as much as 10,000 sheets of paper a year in the typical dental practice.
